Treatment Planner toolbars

Treatment Planner includes toolbars to provide easy access to most of the treatment-planning tools and other areas of Dentrix Enterprise. You can customize Treatment Planner toolbars to fit the needs of each user; toolbars can be displayed, hidden, and repositioned. Also, the toolbar buttons can be created, displayed, hidden, and customized.

Treatment Planner toolbars provides the following toolbars:

The function of each button on the toolbar is explained in the following table.

Button

Description

Patient Chart

Click to enter or manage clinical information for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner.

Family File

Click to enter or manage demographic, contact, or insurance information for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner.

Ledger

Click to enter or manage financial transactions for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner.

Appointments

Click to schedule appointments and perform appointment-related tasks. When Appointment Book opens, it displays today's date and uses the default view.

Office Manager

Click to view or generate reports, perform maintenance, or configure settings.

Quick Letters

Click to open the Quick Letters dialog box to create a letter by merging information that is specific to the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner into a document template.

Quick Labels

Click to open the Quick Labels dialog box to create a label by merging information that is specific to the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner into a label template..

Continuing Care

Click to track and manage the on-going dental care of the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner.

Send Message

Click to open your email program (such as Microsoft Outlook®) to compose and send an email message. If an email address has been entered for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner, the patient's email address populates the To box of the email message automatically. If an email address has not been entered for the patient, the To box of the email message is blank.


Questionnaires

Click to print out medical history or other forms for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner to complete. If the patient has questionnaires, the button has a red check mark. If the patient does not have questionnaires, there is not a red check mark.


Prescriptions

Click to write, manage, or print prescriptions for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner. If the patient has prescriptions, the button has a red Rx. If the patient does not have prescriptions, there is not a red Rx.

Office Journal

Click to enter or manage communications with the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner.


Document Center

Click to attach or manage important documents, pictures, and letters for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner. If the patient has documents, the button has papers in the drawer. If the patient does not have documents, there are not papers.

The Dentrix Enterprise modules can also be opened from the File menu, by pointing to Switch To, and then clicking one of the menu options.

Patient Information toolbar

The function of each button on the toolbar is explained in the following table.

Select Patient

Click to open the Select Patient dialog box to select the patient whose Treatment Planner record you want to access.


Medical Alerts

Click to display any medical alerts (problems, allergies, medications, and implantable devices) for the patient who is selected in Document Center. If the patient has at least one medical alert, the plus sign on the button is completely red. If the patient does not have any medical alerts, the plus sign is gray with a red outline.


Patient Alerts

Click to enter or manage alerts for the patient who is selected in Document Center. If the patient does not have any patient alerts, the Create Patient Alert dialog box appears; otherwise, the Patient Alert dialog box appears. If the patient has alerts, the flag on the button is yellow. If the patient does not have alerts, the flag is white.


Patient Referrals

Click to open the Patient Referrals dialog box to enter or manage referrals to and from your practice for the patient who is selected in Document Center. If the patient has referrals, there is a person on the button. If the patient does not have referrals, there is an outline of a person.

Click to open the More Information window for the patient who is selected in Treatment Planner.

Treatment Planner Module toolbar

The function of each button on the toolbar is explained in the following table.

Refresh

Click to update the data from other modules, such as Ledger or Chart.

Update Treatment Plan Fees

Click to open the Update Treatment Plan Fees dialog box to update the treatment plan fees manually to reflect any fee schedule changes.


Primary Dental Insurance Notes

Click to view the primary dental insurance plan note for the primary dental insurance plan of the selected patient. There are also buttons for secondary, tertiary, and quaternary dental insurance. If the patient does not have a particular types of insurance (for example, he or she may only have primary dental insurance), the corresponding buttons will be unavailable.


Insurance Benefits

Click to view a summary of the selected patient's insurance benefits. There is also an option to include all family members. This button is available only if the patient has insurance coverage.

Print

Click to select a Treatment Planner report to print: the Treatment Case Report, Patient Treatment Case Report, or Practice Treatment Case Report.

Treatment Planner View

Click to select a Treatment Planner view.

Copy Case Detail to Clipboard

Click to copy the case detail currently being displayed to the Windows Clipboard so that you can paste the information into a word processing program.

Other Appointments

Click to open the Family Appointment List dialog box in Appointment Book to view appointments that have been scheduled for the patient selected in Treatment Planner and that patient's family members.
